Hammam at CHYL

Hammam Ritual
Your therapist applies traditional black soap, a soft olive-based Moroccan soap, to soften and prepare the skin before the steam. A textured kessa glove is then used for a full-body exfoliation. A 20-minute massage follows, and the ritual closes with Moroccan mint tea.
- Black soap
- Steam hammam
- Kessa exfoliation
- 20-min massage
- Mint tea

The Supreme
Three unhurried hours with the spa entirely your own, and your therapist with you throughout. After the hammam and jacuzzi, they cleanse the skin with black soap, exfoliate it with the kessa, then apply a wrap of rhassoul, a mineral clay from the Atlas Mountains that draws out impurities and smooths the skin. A 60-minute full-body massage follows, then a cranial and facial finish and mint tea.
- Private spa
- Hammam & jacuzzi
- Black soap & kessa
- Rhassoul clay wrap
- 60-min massage
- Cranial-facial finish
- Mint tea
The hammam travelled from the bathhouses of Rome into the cities of North Africa, where it became part of everyday life.

In a traditional Moroccan medina, the hammam stood alongside the mosque, the bakery, the fountain and the school as one of the essentials of every neighbourhood.
People came each week to steam, to cleanse with black soap made from olives, and to smooth the skin with rhassoul, a clay mined in the Atlas Mountains.
